A must-have for true fans: Merami performs all vocals and interviews for 30 minutes.

About the circle

While this album is technically released under めらみぽっぷ feat. 華飯 (Meramipop feat. Kahan), I group it together with the Psalm of Dreamers (一人華飯スペシャル) releases (Kahan’s circle). He uses the catalog number KSP-0001 here, and continues the numbering with future releases under the circle’s name. More about Kahan in my previous post: 2step radio’s self-titled.

The Psalm of Dreamers released both original and Touhou arrange works. Including this album, Merami sang 28 tracks across 5 albums for the circle, mostly pop and rock. The penultimate album featuring Merami is quite good (on & under the miracle, released at M3-29 in 2012).

About the album

It’s a good start, though the later albums are better. The album features eight tracks and a short intro track. Favorite tracks:
03. 吸血鬼少女(ヴァンパイア・ガール)
07. 夕焼け
09. bye-bye
Track 3 (Vampire Girl) is fun and catchy. This track appears again on four count (C81 in 2011) as a remix.
In a world full of overly busy and loud songs, it’s nice to have slower, softer songs like track 7 (Sunset).
The last track closes out the album on an energetic note.
Track 2, Green Eyes, also appears on a later album (on & under the miracle, released at M3-29 in 2012).

And of course, the 30 minute interview between Merami and Kahan. It’s interesting to hear Merami speaking rather than singing or voice acting, especially since there is a lot of the latter and very little of the former. Other recordings of her talking are on her Youtube channel, FANBOX, the shoujo byou (少女病) lives, and old radio recordings. The interview mostly consists of commentary on each track in the album. There isn’t much to comment on–not that I can translate all of it perfectly, anyway. The closing words are about planning to produce more music together, similar to and different from this album, which did happen. There is also another bonus track that is on the website (not present on the CD). It seems to be another take of commentary about track 3.
